MJF wins the AEW World Championship in the AEW Full Gear main event thanks to a decisive betrayal

MJF won the AEW World Championship AEW Full Gear Saturday Night Thanks to a Critical Betrayal by William Regal. When the initial referee for the match was eliminated, Friedman discussed using the Dynamite Diamond Ring only for Regal to shout at him. Moxley then got Max trapped in a bulldog choke and forced out, but the second referee added was eliminated in the process. When Regal ordered Moxley to tip off the first referee as he slowly made his way to his feet, Regal knocked out a pair of brass knuckles to Max. The youngster slid on them, punching Moxley in the face and pinning him for the win.

After taking a hiatus from AEW TV following explosive comments against Tony Khan on an episode of AEW Dynamite, Friedman returned to the action at Everyone out pay-per-view in September by enlisting The Firm to give him the win in the Casino Ladder Match, earning himself a match for the AEW World Championship at any time. Then he sat back and watched as CM Punk was stripped of the title after “Brawl Out” and Moxley became a three-time champion by defeating Bryan Danielson in a six-man tournament finale at AEW Grand Slam. Although it looked like Max might take the easy way out and take advantage of a weak Moxley, he instead announced that his title match would take place at Full lunge. He was pushed to the decision after harsh criticism from Regal.

Check out the full results from Full Gear 2022 less! While AEW’s pay-per-view schedule is up for the year, it will have one last major event with an upcoming winter show at the Curtis Colwell Center in Garland, Texas on December 14.
